Directions to Carvoeiro

Hiring a car in Carvoeiro is not essential but having your own transport does add a great deal of freedom to enjoy your holiday. We can recommend a good reliable local car hire company should you wish.

Please ask if want us to arrange a taxi to pick you up at the airport. A transfer is about 50-55 Euros each way currently.

Getting to Carvoeiro and your villa is quite simple. After picking up your luggage go through Customs to the arrival hall. Look to your right and you will see most of the car hire companies. After picking up your vehicle, zero the tripometer. Attached are the directions and even photographs of the road signs to get you to Carvoeiro as seen on the www.carvoeiro.com web site.

Finding Villa Oleanders

Carvoeiro has a one way system. Keep going straight along the approach road and you will reach the central square and the beach. You then need to turn 90 degrees left heading for up the hill with many restaurants and signposted Praias (beaches). Keep going up and you will pass a large yellow hotel on the left called Hotel Mirachoro.

On reaching the top of the hill there is a turning to the left with many road signs stuck on the wall indicating, amongst others, Lagoa, Benagil, Poco Partido and Areias dos Moinhos. The road is called Rua dos Moinhos. Take this left turn. On your right there are buildings which are reminiscent of the Flintstones household! Continue past these. Look out for signs to a restaurant called Ponto do Encontro and follow the signs as the villa is almost opposite this.

After approximately 0.5 km there is a turning to the right sign posted Areias dos Moinhos (area of the windmills) and Reception as well as Ponto do Encontro. Please note that some shrubs do obscure this sign to some extent. Take this turning uphill. Then take the first left, again following the signs for reception, and this is your road. Just after reception is Villa Oleanders (number 64). There is a key to the drive gates in the bundle you have been sent.
